Students! Before you apply for a job or an internship through the platform, you will need to make sure you have uploaded your resume to the My Docs section!
Some schools also require that a career services staff member to review your resume and approve it before you can apply for jobs. These are called Resume Approval schools.
If you do not go to a Resume Approval school, you can simply upload your resume to the My Docs section and then apply to the job posts that appear in the platform.
In this video, our student (Allison) attends a Resume Approval school.
Before applying for a job, Allison needs to upload her resume - which is then automatically forwarded by the platform to the school's career services staff for review and approval. It can take a day or two for offices to review resumes and approve them. Sometimes they have a lot of resumes to look through!
Allison is eager to apply for a job, so she also sends career services a polite, professional note through the platform. She explains that she just uploaded her resume and wishes to apply for a job.
When a resume is approved, the student will receive an email. They can then log into the platform and see that their resume is approved in the My Docs section. Now they can apply for a job!
This video will show you from beginning to end the steps you can take when using the platform to apply to jobs and internships that you are interested in pursuing.
- Read the notes that appear in the platform! Notice how in the video Allison read that her school was a Resume Approval school - so she took action and emailed career services after she uploaded her resume!
- Read job descriptions and job requirements carefully. Make sure that if a job or internship lists requirements related to your major, GPA, or grad year, that you meet them. If you don't you will be unable to apply.
