For applications (resumes, cover letters, etc.) that are submitted to you via the Purple Briefcase platform, you can choose to have them forwarded to your email address as well. This functionality can be set up when you are completing the Add a Job form.
As you complete the form and scroll down, you will see a section called Job Application Criteria. The first question asks “How Should Students Apply?” The drop-down box allows you to choose (also by default) “via Platform.”
Immediately under this drop-down box you will see a check box.
If that box is checked, you WILL NOT receive any email about job applicants.
If you would like to receive email when a student applies for your job, DO NOT check the box.
Your email client that you use for getting email may have settings that can send email to your junk or spam folder. We recommend checking this folder relatively frequently to make sure you are not missing any important email.
Make sure all communications from @purplebriefcase.com and @mailpurplebriefcase.com are whitelisted in your email client. Additionally, you can ask your email provider to unblock or whitelist a particular email address. Then, email from that address will be more likely to make it into your inbox.
